
Description
The Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque, built in 641 AD, is the first mosque in Egypt and Africa, located in the heart of Old Cairo. Founded by Amr Ibn Al-As, the commander who led the Islamic conquest of Egypt, it holds immense religious and historical significance. Though expanded and renovated over the centuries, the mosque retains its spiritual importance, serving as a symbol of Egypt’s early Islamic heritage.
